Branding, Logo Redesign

THE GOAL

Every brand transition necessitates clear strategies. In the case of SHARPY, their existing symbol carried a history that no longer served their brand identity; it hindered proper dissemination due to its low graphic quality and outdated format, particularly in the digital realm.

SHARPY lacked a visual identity to complement its logo and had no assets for explaining and promoting its services. We needed to craft a new, youthful, clear, and direct version of SHARPY. It's all about technology and innovation. Initially, Sharpy aimed to give its logo a refresh. The company recognized the need for visual adjustments to better represent its core services. However, we at Zenda faced the challenge of creating a symbol that could encompass the broad range of technological services they offer, such as the marketing of cameras, alarms, equipment, computer supplies, software and hardware development, telecommunications solutions, installation, startup, as well as assistance, maintenance, support, and advice.
Another reason for the change was the brand's desire to appear more youthful and approachable. This desire led to the use of a mascot as a representative symbol.

THE APPROACH

Initially, Sharpy aimed to give its logo a refresh. The company recognized the need for visual adjustments to better represent its core services. However, we at Zenda faced the challenge of creating a symbol that could encompass the broad range of technological services they offer, such as the marketing of cameras, alarms, equipment, computer supplies, software and hardware development, telecommunications solutions, installation, startup, as well as assistance, maintenance, support, and advice.
Another reason for the change was the brand's desire to appear more youthful and approachable. This desire led to the use of a mascot as a representative symbol.

We had to develop a clean and sophisticated communication strategy that aligns with their mission of 'Bring progress closer to the people'.

Logo and Symbol Redesign
For Sharpy's logo revamp, we chose the Poppins typeface as a foundation. This font allowed us to achieve a more digital appearance with its geometric characters. We also recommended using lowercase letters for the company name, except for the initial letter. This approach helps tone down the logo and create a less aggressive visual impact. Using all-capital letters often conveys a sense of shouting.

It's important to understand the evolution this symbol underwent. We explored various possibilities using the same letter to arrive at the final result. To add unique symbolic elements in line with Sharpy's vision, we incorporated a forward arrow in the last letter, 'Y.' This subtle element represents technological progress and continuous forward movement, innovation close to the people.

For the new logo, we employed a limited color palette. While retaining the warm color scheme as a base, we introduced a more vibrant orange tone, which better aligns with the digital landscape in which the brand operates. These color choices enhance brand control for both internal and external use, a crucial consideration when working with startups.
